Generation SERVE was founded in Austin, Texas in 2009 by a mom who wanted to make sure her young girls - 4 and 6 at the time - learned about the joys and importance of volunteering from a young age.
For the next 10 years, the idea and the organization grew rapidly! Thousands of families have supported more than 100 nonprofit organizations in Central Texas through Generation SERVE volunteer opportunities. Generation SERVE's Family Volunteering program was introduced in Houston in 2019 and has already had a big impact on the local Houston community! |

Take a look at what our volunteer youth and families have to say about their experiences with Generation SERVE:
I appreciate the doors that Generation SERVE opens for our family to volunteer with a variety of organizations. There is no way we would have found these volunteer opportunities without the help of Generation SERVE." (After volunteering together) we now have conversations regularly about helping those in need. He includes being a volunteer when he describes himself in school projects. Volunteering is now a part of who he is." I love seeing how the big kids model for the younger ones - my kids love shadowing the big kids and working together." |
I feel like Generation SERVE has given me a drive to do good for our community and to just do the tiniest things to make a person's day better." We love serving our community. Not too long ago we needed help like the Hope Food Pantry provides, so this is our chance to give back." Volunteering is a good thing for all families to do. It's important to help others live a better life." |
